If I were shopping around for a stileto style pocket knife this one would not be it. There is one reason and only one reason I say that. This is not a quick release. it has the little stem that you would pull with your index finger to realease the blade but it is not big enough to flip out the blade more than a quarter of the way. This is not a spring assisted blade but it wouldn't have to be if that stem was a little bigger so that you could get a good flick with your finger. So the best way to open this knife is to use the thumb stud and a flick of your wrist. This is not automatically a bad thing but it is kind of a step backwards. other than tyhat I like this knife. It is sturdy and tight. the handle allows for a solid grip. the overall length of the blade and handle together is decent. Its not to big and not to small. The blade is not razor sharp but it is sharp. I like the weight of the knife, its not to light or to heavy. The pocket clip is not so tight that it takes time to hook it on your pocket.its also not to loose as to where it might be knocked off your pocket easily. I like the fact that there is no seration on the blade. Over all I would say this is not a bad china made knife and if you don't mind using a thumb stud to open it , it is worth the average price for it
